White Tank Palms, LLC, located west of Phoenix, Arizona, has been in the business of field growing the Mexican Fan Palm (Washingtonia robusta) since planting its first field in 1983. White Tank Palms, LLC is a wholesale nursery serving the greater southwestern United States, primarily West Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, California and Arizona. White Tank Palms, LLC is and always has been devoted to field growing its palms and is not in the business of digging, brokering or providing palms salvaged or collected from yards, right of ways, parks, and other sources. It is important to note here that White Tank Palms, LLC is an ARIZONA CERTIFIED NURSERY and operates under Arizona Department of Agriculture OZONIUM ROOT ROT CERTIFICATE. These certifications allow export to California.
Our nursery encompasses over 140 acres and 60,000 palms. In addition to the Mexican Fan Palms, we grow the California or Desert Fan Palm (Washingtonia filifera), and Mediterranean Fan Palm (Chamaerops humilis). Included in our inventory, presently in limited quantities, are smaller sizes of the Blue Hesper Palm (Brahea/Erythea armata), San Jose Hesper Palm (Brahea brandegeei), Butia or Jelly Palm (Butia capitata), Chinese Windmill Palm (Trachycarpus fortunei/Chamaerops excelsa), Sabal Palm (Sabal riverside), Fox Tail Palm(Wodyetia bifurcata), Pigmy Date Palm (Phoenix roebelenii), Queen Palm (Arecastrum romanzoffianum), Guadalupe Fan Palm (Brahea/Erythea edulis) etc.
Our Mexican Fan Palms come field dug (bare root) or boxed in sizes ranging from 4' to 50', skinned or unskinned. Normally we supply Boulevard Straight palms for a formal and stately look. But demand is increasing for our Tornado or Resort Curved Mexican Fans, which offer an exotic, sculptural, graceful and eye-catching look that truly softens the vertical lines of multi-storied buildings.
While the Mexican Fan Palm is indigenous to Northern Mexico and Southern California and Arizona where light intensity and spectral qualities are high, this palm is frequently used in indoor applications under some natural and artifical lighting. We have a shade structure to acclimate palms up to 20' in height for indoor use. Some of our applications have been to the Scottsdale Fashion Square indoor mall in Scottsdale, AZ., Navy Pier Mall Renovation in Chicago, Il., and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden-Cowles Conservatory, Minneapolis, MN.
In addition we have experience in exporting our palms to the Middle East, Mexico and to California, Nevada, Florida, Texas and other states within the U.S.
